This mixed-media work incorporates botanical pigments and dye on paper with a beeswax resist on both sides of the paper's surface. Pigments include indigo, black walnut and logwood, each foraged and grown by the artist. Layers are created by submerging the paper into dye baths and the pigments are absorbed in the the papers' fibers, allowing them to take their own shape and depth. Mounted on a hardwood cradle with an acid-free wheat paste and framed with a poplar floater frame, it's protected with an additional layer of wax and UV varnish. Ready to hang.
